Profile

Jim Bachman is a partner in Doyle & Bachman LLP. His practice covers a broad range of government contracting matters with special emphasis in contract financing matters and litigation involving claims against the government. Mr. Bachman regularly represents contractors and financing institutions in connection with financing of government contract receivables. Often this involves a lease receivable associated with the lease of equipment, including aircraft, information technology equipment, office machines, or furniture. Jim also has an extensive practice in connection with the financing of Energy Conservation projects with the federal government.

Mr. Bachman's litigation practice includes successful cases involving contract disputes before the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals and the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals as well as the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. These disputes include conversion of default termination to a termination for convenience, pricing and change order matters, and termination claims.

Mr. Bachman is an active member of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association and regularly speaks on federal lease financing issues before the financing industry.
